Today we got a copy of the Music & Arts Black Friday ad. This is our first time seeing a specific Black Friday ad from this store so we’re excited to add them to our Black Friday family.
The 4-page Music & Arts Black Friday Ad features four coupons and 23 unique sale items. The Music & Arts Black Friday sale is a 3-day sale, starting in-stores at 8:00 a.m. on Friday and ending Sunday. 
The front page of the ad is a little vague in that they say you can find the deals online starting on Thanksgiving, but then above that in big letters it says “In-Store Only” and also says this at the bottom of the last page. We’re guessing that they want you to go online Thursday and pick out what you plan on getting over the weekend. It’s possible that they’ll be offering more deals than are in the ad, we’ll have to wait until Thanksgiving to find out.

You’ve heard of Man v. Wild? Well, Black Friday camping is just as intense. Not only do you have to battle hoards of people to get the items you want, but, if you’re really serious, you have to face the environmental elements while camping out.
Camped out in line in the concrete jungle we call a store parking lot, there may be wind, snow, rain, sleet, and the inevitable turkey coma that remains from Thanksgiving dinner. This post is intended to equip you with the skills that you will need to help you survive the Black Friday camp out, and, ultimately, get the goods your set out for.
Some retailers, like Best Buy, offer extreme price cuts on big ticket items, generally have limited quantities. So some people camp out days ahead of time to get their hands on these deeply discounted products. This being said, pack and prepare accordingly.

In a shocking turn of events, Harbor Freight was NOT the first Black Friday Ad released in 2012. While not the first, they are still ahead of the masses and this year’s Harbor Freight Black Friday Ad is a 2-pager boasting a 3-day sale that starts on Friday, November 23 and runs through Sunday, November 25.
Sticking to last year’s schedule, doors will open at 6AM for Harbor Freight Inside Track Club members (a $30/yr. fee) and at 7AM for all other shoppers.
Some highlights from Harbor Freight Tools Black Friday ad included:
- The Pittsburgh Automotive 12-ft. 8 Gauge Jumper Cables With Inline Battery Tester drops from $19.99 to $4.99
- This Cen-tech Infrared Thermometer w/ Laser Targeting goes from $59.99 to $19.83
- Originally $299.99, this US General Roller Drawer 11-Cabinet will be $149.99

When Brandon Vanderstelt and his wife set up camp 10 days ahead of Black Friday outside of a North Texas Best Buy with a tongue-in-cheek “Occupy Best Buy” sign decorating their tent, their intent was to be first in line for Best Buy’s Black Friday deals.
“It’s an $800 TV for $200, so we figured people would be out here really early, and that’s a deal we didn’t want to pass up,” he said. ”We get about 100 questions a day and about 100 pictures,” Vanderstelt said. “Everybody talks to us. It’s fun.”
However, not everyone shares the Vanderstelts’ lighthearted view of Black Friday as news surfaced this week indicating that the Occupy Wall Street movement may take their protest to America’s malls on Black Friday to protest corporate greed.
While Adbusters’ “Buy Nothing Day” has been around for twenty years now, the momentum of the Occupy movement combined with growing frustration over the surge of midnight openings and mediocre deals may be enough to form an entirely new form of Black Friday mob. The idea is certainly gaining momentum, as evidenced by the establishment of websites such as StopBlackFriday.com, whose stated goal is to “Hit the 1% where it hurts – in the wallet.” Adbusters is largely credited with sparking the Occupy Wall Street movement.

ULTA’s Black Friday ad was released today. The 2-page ad (presented here as a single page) is presented as a two day sale and notes that all stores will be open “by 6am”, which implies that individual locations may open their doors sooner, so be sure to call ahead to confirm if you plan to show up early. 
Much of the ad is devoted to free gifts from brands like Calvin Klein, Ed Hardy and Elizabeth Arden. We count six different free gift options, plus a 5 for $5 mix and match on a range of small items normally priced under $7 such as lotions and single-use facial treatments, and a buy 2 get 2 free mix and match on an equally wide range of bath and cosmetics items normally priced between $3 and $9.50.
Some highlights from the ULTA Black Friday Ad include:
- ULTA Artist Blockbuster Palette for $16.99
- Free 1 oz. “hope in a jar” with any $50 philosophy purchase

The 2011 Big Lots Black Friday Ad has been released. This 6-page ad covers items from electronics to toys to furniture and more. They will open their doors at 6AM on Black Friday and these prices will last until 11AM.
Some highlights from the 2011 Big Lots Black Friday Ad include:

Macy’s has released their 2011 Black Friday Ad! They will be open at midnight on Black Friday and their Morning Specials will last through 1PM. They are also starting online sales on Thanksgiving day at Macys.com/BlackFriday, where you can take 15%-20% off.
Some deal highlights from the 2011 Macy’s Black Friday Ad include:
- $10 off $25 in-store until 1PM
- Bionaire Steam Mop for $19.99 after rebate
- Free Sylvania Digital Camera with any $65 Fragrance Purchase
- Select Kitchen Electrics (Rocket Blender, panini press, Black & Decker rice cooker, etc.) for $9.99 after rebate.
Note that many of the final prices for their Black Friday sales are after rebate. You may end up paying $10-$20 more in the store, then mailing in the rebate to get the final price listed.
