If finally happened – a major retailer nabbed Rebecca Black’s Friday for a Black Friday campaign. We speculated months ago that the Youtube viral video sensation would be a great fit for Black Friday.
Apparently Kohl’s agreed. Just as the world had finally managed to get the original out of its head, the Kohl’s Black Friday ad features a woman singing “Black Friday, Black Friday, gotta go to Kohl’s on Black Friday. Everybody’s going there at midnight, midnight” and she power-shops through the store, stealing items from other shoppers’ carts.
“You’ll be singing this song every day until Black Friday. Guaranteed,” says the video description on Kohl’s Youtube channel.
LivingSocial is joining the Black Friday fray, allowing shoppers to snag Black Friday deals without fighting the crowds. For the first time, the daily deals vendor is forgoing its usual fare of spas, restaurants and cheap weekend getaways to offer online-only deals from retailers such as Bluefly, EA and Verizon Wireless beginning Black Friday and running through Cyber Monday. According to an Associated Press article, nearly all of the deals to be featured will be for 50% off or more, including less than half-price magazine subscriptions or $40 for $80 at Wine.com.
Retailers lined up for LivingSocial Black Friday deals include:
The Black Friday ads for Bon-Ton, Carson’s and Younkers have been released! The 68-page ad boasts 500 midnight doorbusters, many of which are available online on Thanksgiving Day.
Bon-Ton Department Store, Carson Pirie Scott and Younkers are three branches of the same chain of stores, and most of the three ads are therefore the same from store to store. There are some differences in the first few pages, however, so be sure you’re looking at the right ad when making your Black Friday plans.
Online retail giant Amazon has revealed its Black Friday ad! Although it’s obvious from the scans that it’s a printed ad, all 8 glossy pages are mocked up like Amazon’s website, complete with prices struck though. That means that there are no actual prices listed in the ad, but you can see original prices.
We have two more ads for you today: H&M and Big 5 Sporting Goods

The H&M Black Friday Ad has arrived. The ad announces that the trendy clothing retailer will open its doors at 5am. Additionally, the first 100 customers in line will receive a scratch-off good for up to $300. Dresses from $5
Sweaters from $5
Outerwear from $20
Pants from $10
Kids Jackets from $10
Big 5 Sporting Goods

Two more stores have announced their Black Friday sales: Value City Furniture and Wirefly.
Wirefly
The thing that makes Wirefly’s Black Friday ad unique is that Wirefly is not a brick-and-mortar store, and yet they released a multi-page ad like brick-and-mortars do. The takeaway here is to shop early -the best wireless deals here may be out of stock by the time Cyber Monday finally arrives. Some highlights from the 2011 Wirefly Black Friday Ad include:
