Several Black Friday retailers have teamed up with popular social check-in service Foursquare to offer exclusive deals to the socially savvy. As we’ve mentioned previously, social media can be a great way to score extra Black Friday savings, and now Foursquare has confirmed some of the 2011 Black Friday deals you can access when you check in tomorrow.
JC Penney – Check in between 4am and 1pm and $25 will be donated to Salvation Army, up to $100,000. (We wrote about this one here.)
Sports Authority - Check in and spend $100 to get a $25 cash card on the spot. You’ll also have a chance to win a $500 cash card.
Aeropostale - Check in to get 20% off purchases over $50.
Brookstone - Check in to get $10 off purchases over $70.
RadioShack - Unlock the “So Right” badge with activities like exercising, volunteering , and then checking in at RadioShack. For every badge earned, RadioShack will donate $1 to LIVESTRONG.
American Express Small Business Saturday - Sync your Amex with your Foursquare account to receive a $25 statement credit when you shop Saturday at more than 300,000 local merchants nationwide.
This is just a sampling of what’s out there, so be sure to check in at every store you visit tomorrow to take advantage of Foursquare Black Friday deals.

As Black Friday ads have rolled out this year, we’ve noticed many retailers starting their Black Friday sales on Thanksgiving Day online.

Check in on Foursquare at JC Penney on Black Friday and $25 will be donated to The Salvation Army.
Black Friday retailer JC Penney wants you to check in on Foursquare while you do your Black Friday shopping. According to a press release posted on their website, JC Penney will donate $25 to The Salvation Army for every Foursquare check in at JC Penney locations on Black Friday between the hours of 4am and 1pm, up to $100,000.
“With more customers shopping jcpenney on Black Friday than any other day of the year, this Christmas we’re focused on making it easy for customers to be the best Santa ever to their friends, loved ones and even those in our communities who need our help,” said Bill Gentner, senior vice president of marketing planning and promotions for jcpenney. “From our broad selection of unique and affordable gifts to exciting digital initiatives that connect customers to a meaningful cause, we are enhancing the Black Friday shopping experience to reinforce the true spirit of the season.” (Go to the JC Penney Black Friday ad.)
There have been a lot of comments on the late night vs. early morning Black Friday sales. Target, Macy’s and Kohl’s are all opening at midnight this year. So after you finish Thanksgiving dinner, you can go shop to your heart’s content! JCPenney and Sears will be keeping the traditional early-morning store hours; opening at 4AM. JC Penney is bucking 2011′s midnight doorbuster trend by opening its doors at 4am. Company spokesman Tim Lyons confirmed the news yesterday to the Houston Chronicle. The 4am opening is a familiar spot, as JC Penney opened at 4am in 2010 as well.
JC Penney has confirmed they will open at 4am on Black Friday.
This likely will prove to be a smart move for JC Penney, setting shoppers up for a round of fresh merchandise while retailers like Macy’s, Target and Kohl’s battle it out for the midnight time slot with merchandise well picked over by the time JC Penney opens for business.
