We have removed the 2012 Ace Hardware Black Friday ad at the merchant’s request. Here’s an excerpt from the letter that we received today:

“We recently became aware that www.bradsdeals.com has posted a preliminary proof of an Ace Hardware circular advertisement intended for the weekend after Thanksgiving 2012 (“Proof”). As you know, Ace has not yet approved the Proof for public release and at this time, the information in the Proof, including any pricing, products and brands featured in it, is proprietary and confidential in nature. The submission of the Proof to you represents a breach of a confidentiality obligation on the part of your source.”

“Please be assured that Ace is committed to truthful and accurate advertising. Publication of the Proof before it has been approved and finalized by Ace does a disservice to both Ace and any visitors to your site. When the ad is finalized and released for print in early November, Ace’s Advertising department will be more than happy to supply you with the final, approved copy.”

As always, we’re disappointed that we are unable to share the information contained in the ad just yet. However, as you can see in the above excerpt, the letter does indicate that the final ad will be released in early November.
