Black Friday is fast approaching and we here at Brad’s Deals want to make sure you find all the products you want at great prices. We have some Black Friday predictions here to help you find exactly what you’re looking for this holiday season.
Our Black Friday predictions are focused on the big sellers of the season; HDTVS, Smartphones, Apple products, Digital Cameras, Video Games, Laptops, and Tablets.
HDTVs are a huge player this Black Friday. We have discovered that online retailers like Amazon and Tiger Direct have been slashing prices just as drastically as big box stores like Best Buy. Why wait in line in the cold when you could purchase in the comfort of your own home? Buying online also ensures the retailer will have larger items, such as HDTVs, in stock.
Retailers are pushing a larger HDTV this year; the 55″. This bigger HD screen is predicted to sell at $429, or $425 if you’re looking for a model with 3D capabilities. If you’re not looking to upgrade in size, smaller models (32″-42″) will not see such large discounts, but are still priced affordably at $179 for the 32″ and $269 for the 46″.
Apple products are always a hot holiday item. Unfortunately, The Apple Store does not produce the savings opportunities we look for on Black Friday. The Apple Store runs the same Black Friday deal every year; 5% off iPads, iPods, or MacBooks and free shipping worldwide. If you’re looking to save on Apple products, your best bet is to shop online through Amazon, MacMall, or Best Buy.
With the release of the new iPad and iPad Mini rumored to be happening at the end of October, we will see the prices on previous generation tablets fall just in time for Black Friday. We are also seeing great deals on the new and colorful iPhone 5c from big box retailers like Walmart and RadioShack; they have discounted the device almost 50% ($45 for the 16GB) when you shop in store and sign a two year wireless contract.
In terms of tablets, the biggest deals you will see this year will be on Microsoft Surface tablets. With the release of the second generation of Surface, the first models will fall to $314 for the Surface RT and $719 for the Surface Pro. If you’re looking for an iPad for less, the release of the new iPad 5 will discount the previous generation to $340 for the 16GB WiFi.
When it comes to budget tablets, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD can’t be beat. With the debut of the new Kindle Fire HDX, the price of the previous model fell to a very affordable $139. You won’t see any sales on the Kindle Fire HD, but you hardly need one with a price this low.
If you’re looking for a new Smartphone this Black Friday, you have to be willing to sign a two year wireless contract. Stores have been offering “for profit” phone deals which provide the customer with instant savings in the form of store credit or gift cards to use immediately on their Smartphone purchases.
As we mentioned before, the new iPhone 5c is selling for $45 when you purchase in store at Walmart or RadioShack. Another notable smartphone deal we found was on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini, which, when paired with a two year contract at AT&T, is as low as $.01 on Amazon.
This is a big year for gamers; there are two new consoles on the horizon from both Sony and Microsoft. The Playstation 4 and the XBox One will be huge ticket items this year. You should not expect to find savings on these new consoles, as even finding one for full price by the holidays may be a challenge. There also won’t be marked savings on the previous generation consoles, as both companies have stated they won’t be discontinued for at least another year.
What you can expect to save on are the games for the previous generation console. Expect to see new games for the PS3 and XBox 360 at discounts of 50-80%.
Digital cameras are seeing great discounts this year, as they have been competing with the ever-growing popularity of camera phones. This has caused retailers to drop digital camera prices to compete.
For people looking to take high-quality photos on something other than their smartphone, digital cameras are the way to go. You can expect to see point and shoot models, like the Nikon Coolpix s9050 for $250, or (for more serious photographers) Digital SLRs like the Canon EOS Rebel T3i DSLR for $599.
Finally, we come to the laptops. The laptop has had a hard year; with the popularity and convenience of tablets, a lot of people are questioning how important the laptop is anymore. This competition has produced some great savings on laptops this holiday season. You can find budget laptops for as cheap as $170 this year. If you’re looking for something with a bit more performance power, you should look into a 15″ Core i3-based system, which will run you about $240 for a brand name like Toshiba or HP.
If you’re interested in the premium category of ultra-portable, lightweight laptops, you will be shelling out quite a bit more money, the lowest prices being around $520 for a 12” notebook.
