A sign of the Black Friday iPhone deals to come, perhaps?

iPhone 5C all colors

ABC News first reported that Best Buy will be discounting Apple’s brand new iPhone 5c by pairing sales of the handset with a $50 gift card only two weeks after the mobile phone’s debut.

From now until Monday, October 7, you can buy an iPhone 5c from any Best Buy store and they’ll allow you to use the $50 gift card on your purchase when you agree to a new two-year contract with your wireless carrier of choice (AT&T, Verizon, or Sprint).

The 16GB  iPhone 5c is regularly priced at $99.99 with a new two-year contract, while the 32GB iPhone 5c is sold for $199.99 when you sign a new two-year contract, so the $50 gift card would drop the price of both devices to $49.99 and $149.99, respectively.

ABC News also reports that Best Buy is offering the same $50 gift card promo on sales of Samsung Galaxy phones through Monday, affording you the opportunity to save $50 on the popular Samsung Galaxy S4 (regularly priced at $199.99).

If we’re already seeing such substantial deals on premium mobile devices with just 55 days until Black Friday, what sort of deals can we expect from the single biggest shopping day of the year?

Well, if we’re using Best Buy’s promo as an indicator of the Black Friday deals to come, retailers are likely to pair handsets like the iPhone 5c, iPhone 5s, and Galaxy S4 with gift cards that you can then apply to your purchase on the spot. The kicker will probably be having to commit to a new two-year contract,

While there’s no guarantee that we’ll see any Black Friday deals that can beat Best Buy’s deal on the iPhone 5c this weekend, it’s a safe bet that we’ll see some doorbuster deals akin to this one on a variety of smartphones and other mobile devices come Friday, November 29.
