There are so many tablets on the market right now. Choosing which one is right for you is no easy matter. With tomorrow’s release of the new Windows tablet, the Windows Surface, we wanted to write an article to help you all find the right tablet for you. A hot item on everyone’s wish list this holiday season, there are a ton of things you have to take into consideration when making your decision: How will I be using it? When will I use it? How much do I really want to spend on it? Many tablets have similar features, price points, look/feels, so how do you really know you’re making the right choice? Some of these tablets are no small investments: ranging from $47 to $1,047. We have developed a guide to help you figure out which tablet is right for you.
Warning: This is not an end all, be all way to make your decision. Please take time to research your purchase before making the plunge. We have highlighted the main features, of what we feel are the best tablets in the marketplace right now.

You left out one of the best values out there, the Coby Kyros. I own two (and have owned another that I passed on to my mother). The current models are well built, very affordable, and are running Android 4.0 (ICS). I have owned a Kindle and an ASUS and the Coby compares very well. I have one rooted and and do almost anything I want with it. The other is stock. I highly recommend them.
I have one too, I’ve had it for 2 years and its great. I only wish I had a newer version of android. I’ve promised myself I can upgrade when this one dies but so far no go. I suspect this one will continue working well for a long time….
Thank you for posting your comment about the Coby Kyros. I am looking for one for my son age 14 and we came across this name but wasn’t sure it how good it was, there are so many out there. Thanks again.
My eyes are bad so I need to know which is rated in s laptop and in a tablet .
My need is simply to receive email & print it, anything additional is a bonus. What is my cheapest tablet?
You can find the Google Nexus or Kindle Fire for around $200, both a great!
Are any of these useful for a college student, as in really practical, or should I apply this this money towards a higher grade laptop?
As a recent college grad and tablet owner, I would not substitute a tablet for a laptop. Although easy to carry around with you, there are still things the laptop is better for. I think it’s easier to take notes/ write paper/ do extensive research with a laptop. Maybe as a graduation gift, later on, a tablet would be a good purchase, though. I used mine to show my portfolio on, and people loved it!
The article mentions the Microsoft Surface and then doesn’t include it in the comparison. Windows 8 is going to transform the tablet user experience and you didn’t include the Surface? Time to update the comparison chart.
I have yet to try the Surface, but from the reviews I have read, and judging from the commercial, I do not think this is a leading tablet. It has a lot of problems, and nothing that makes it really stand out in the marketplace. This is a really interesting article, if you’re interested in learning more about the Surface.

I’m tired of Apple’s Tablets, and I’m going to one surface which runs on Windows 8. Appealing to me.

I didn’t see you mention the Samsung galaxy S II tablet. They also have a 7″ tablet. What do you think about the Samsung galaxy S II tablet?
I noticed the Nook HD and HD+ tablets were not included. If you are going to do a comparison of tablets you should include all comparable brands!!!
